We have just received the fantastic news that Mike Dooling is to receive an MBE in the New Year’s honours list for services to athletics in Merseyside.

Mike Dooling is a co-opted member of the England Athletics National Council, and also sits on the North West Regional Council. During his 50 years’ membership of Liverpool Harriers, Mike has supported athletics in a variety of ways including as an athlete, club administrator, event organiser, team manager and official.

Mike has been an active member of the English Schools’ Athletics Association for nearly 30 years and is currently Chairman. He is an Active Merseyside AA committee member, a qualified Track Judge and continues to be involved in schools athletics from grassroots to national level. Mike was very proud to be an Olympic torch bearer in the run up to London 2012.
