Matty Shirling retained his title at the English Schools Cross Country Championships which were held today at Donnington Park, Leicestershire. After his win at the Inter Counties last weekend, Matty followed up by taking the Senior Boys’ title today and beating English National Champion Zak Miller from Trafford AC whom he also beat in the Inter Counties.
Merseyside finished in 17th place with help from Dan Jarvis (47th) and Callum Grant (120th).

The Junior Boys race saw Merseyside come in 10th place with performances from Joe Ford (24th) and Max Brame (231st).

In the Junior Girls race, Lucy Miller took 7th place and Merseyside finished in 10th overall with help from Faye Ireland (61st), Emily Gray (162nd) and Jessica Cook (238th).

Merseyside finished in 30th place in the Intermediate Boys race with help from Tom Rogerson (138th), Ryan Doubtfire (221st), Elliot Coleman (236th) and Christian Woods (322nd).
Inter Boys Results

In the Intermediate Girls race, Merseyside finished in 7th place. Sophia Brennan was first Harrier home in 52nd place followed by Danielle Webb (65th) and Hannah Delaney (170th).
Inter Girls Results

There were no Harriers competing in the Senior Girls race this year.
