Youth Development League

U13Relay
The club had a young and inexperienced team out for their first match in the YDL Lower Age Group at SportCity on Saturday, but there were many good performances and many PBs on the day.

The team finished in 4th place behind Wirral AC but by just 4 points. The next match will hopefully see a higher placing and is at Leeds on Saturday 31st June.

There were many great performances on the day, including a 1st place for the U13 Girls relay team in the 4x100m but overall it was a good team effort.

Northern Athletics League

The club finished an excellent 2nd place in the Northern League match at Stretford on Sunday. West Cheshire won the event on the day but with fewer injuries and more attendance in some of the men’s field events Harriers could have won the match.

The women’s team were very strong with the highlight of the day going to Katarina Johnson-Thompson who set a new club record and a new league record by winning the 400m hurdles in a time of 58.3. That time broke one of the oldest North of England league records, that of 58.8 set by Vicky Boden of Hallamshire in 1987.

Well done to all who competed, a brilliant team effort.
