Highgate Harriers Night of the 10,000m PBs

Highgate
Jonny Mellor took a fantastic British bronze medal at the Highgate Harriers Night of the 10,000m PBs on Saturday at Parliament Hill track. The event acted as the British 10,000m Championships and the elite race was heavily stacked with the country’s top athletes with the entry requirements being a sub 30 minute clocking over the distance.

Terrible weather conditions made the race very tough but Jonny made up the ground on an initial break from Andy Vernon and Chris Thompson to get back in touch with the leading duo, and then battled it out with Thompson for the last two medal positions.

Jonny came 3rd in a time of 28:52.9 to take the bronze medal. Eddie McGinley also competed in the race and came in 16th place in a time of 30:26.53. Full results are available HERE and there is a write up on the British Athletics website.

Congratulations Jonny, an inspiring performance.
