Congratulations to Steven Jones who completed a double victory this weekend at Wigan taking the Northern title in both the U15 High Jump and Long Jump. Steven jumped a 1.86m in the high jump to take the win by 26cm from second place, but the long jump was a much closer competition which he won by a single centimetre with 5.34m. He narrowly missed out on gaining a 3rd medal in the competition by placing 4th in the final of the 80m hurdles in a time of 12.64s.

In other events, Joe Ford finished in 2nd place in the U15 1500m with a time of 4:23.12, narrowly being beaten by Dan Slater from Liverpool Pembroke; and Michael Madeloso took the U15 title in the Javelin with a throw of 42.78m. In the U15 Girls’ Long Jump Grace Preston took the bronze medal with a jump of 4.94m, and Zoe Price set a personal best in the Shot Put to take 3rd place with 10.25m. Caitlin Price also gained a bronze medal on the day finishing in 3rd place in the U17 Hammer with throw of 45.51m.
