L&D XC Championships

The club retained the ‘Lewis Cup’ after a great win on an initially misty morning at Clarke Gardens.

The race was won overall by a brilliant run from Daniel Cliffe, with Dan Jarvis in 2nd place, followed by Liam Burthem 3rd, Ricky Challinor 4th, Richard Evans 6th and Matthew Shirling 12th.

Sadly for the first time in many years we had no ladies in the race.

Merseyside County Schools XC Championships

May of the club athletes turned out for the event on a dry day at Croxteth Park. Full results are available HERE. Primary school age group results are also now available HERE.

Yr 7 Girls
Runner up was Caitlin Robinson and Beth Doubtfire was 3rd

Yr 8-9 Girls
Ella McNiven won, with runner up Jessica Cook, followed in by Lucy and Katie Miller, Emma Gordon and Faye Ireland in 6th place. Brilliant Team effort.

Yr 10-11 Girls
Beth Strange won with Emily Oliver runner up and Abbie Oliver in 4th place.

Yr 12 -13 Girls
Hannah Delaney was runner up.

Yr 7 Boys
Sam Flaherty was 3rd.

Yr 8-9 boys
Max Brame was 3rd with Dan Preston 1 second behind in 4th place.

Yr 10-11 boys
Tom Rogerson was 3rd closely followed by Joe Ford in 4th place

Yr 12-13 boys
Abdi Sharif was runner up with Tom Clarke 4th.

International Flanders Indoor Meeting

Congratulations to Jamie Webb who once again represented England at the International Flanders Indoor Meeting in Ghent, Belgium this weekend.

Jamie ran in the 800m and finished in a time of 1:51.86. Results are available HERE.

Nick Beer 10K

Well done to Jenny Clague who took the 1st V40 prize at the Nick Beer 10K in Llandudno this weekend.

Graham Howell also won the 3rd V65 prize in the popular memorial race which goes up the Great Orme before returning back down to the promenade.
