Great City Games

Katarina Johnson-Thompson and Anyika Onuora were both invited to compete in the Great City Games in Manchester on Saturday.

Katarina competed in the rarely run 200m hurdles on a specially laid straight track. Up against last year’s winner Meghan Beesley she was closing in on the final stages and would have surely took the win but a stumble coming off the final hurdle meant she had to settle for 2nd place with 25.31 to Meghan’s 25.28.

Anyika competed in the 150m, an event in which she holds the national record, and ran a season’s best of 17.80.
