Sainsbury’s Birmingham Grand Prix

We had two athletes competing at the Diamond League event in Birmingham on Sunday, live on the BBC.

Anyika Onuora finished 3rd in the 400m with 52.75 and Jonny Mellor finished 10th in the 5000m with 14:09.09.

Well done to both in tough windy conditions on the track.

British Athletics League – Match 2

Well done to the senior men who won on the day in their second match in the first division of the British League down in Southampton.

The City of Liverpool team scored 343 points to Southampton AC’s second place score of 311 which leaves them top of the table with both Windsor and Southampton tied for 2nd.

UK Women’s League – Match 2

Well done to the female athletes who made the trip down to Kingston to compete in the second match of the UK Women’s League Division 3 on Sunday.

Results are available on Power of Ten but as yet league placings and current standings are yet to be confirmed. The final match is on 9th August at Wigan.

Northern League – Match 2

The Harriers finished 3rd on the day in the 2nd match of the Northern League Division 2W at Leigh on Saturday.

The team scored 336.5 match points, with West Cheshire winning with 404pts and The Isle of Man in 2nd with 353pts. This still leaves us top of the league but positions are really tight with only half a league point separating the first 3 positions.

Tunnel 10K

The Mersey Tunnel 10K took place on Sunday through the Kingsway Tunnel and then along a windy prom towards New Brighton. Full results are available HERE.

Arona Combined Events Meeting

Well done to Anna Rowe who finished a creditable 4th place in the U18 Women’s competition at the Arona Combined Events meeting in Tenerife.
