Northern Athletics U15/U17 Championships

Well done to the junior athletes who competed in the Northern Athletics U15 and U17 Championships in Middlesbrough over the weekend.

Liverpool Harriers had a number of athletes who ended up with podium medals. Grace Preston was 3rd in the U15 Girls 100m with a PB of 12.52 and went one better with 2nd place in the Long Jump with 5.40m. Owen Lee was 2nd in the U17 Men’s 800m with 2:02.10 and Faye Ireland was 2nd in the U15 Girls’ 1500m with 4:48.63.

Tom Rogerson took silver in the U17 Men’s 3000m with 9:15.08 and Hannah Delaney took gold in the U20 Women’s 3000m with 10:14.69. Also, Zoe Price was 2nd in the U15 Girls’ Shot Put with 11.42m and 3rd in the Hammer with a PB of 42.85m.

Capenhurst 5K

The popular Capenhurst 5K took place last night hosted by Ellesmere Running Club.

The race is popular for those chasing fast times, but the heavy rain throughout the day played a part in the results which are available HERE.
