SIAB Schools International/Home Countries International

The SIAB Schools International and Home Countries International was held in Falkirk on 19th March, and three of our young athletes were selected to represent England following their English Schools and National XC performances.

Ella McNiven produced an excellent performance to place 2nd overall in the Junior Girls 3000m which also put her as 2nd counter in the winning English team. Faye Ireland had a good run to place 9th in the Intermediate Girls 4000m and to be the 6th counter on the winning English team.

Cameron Field had a great run to finish 4th in the U20 Men’s 8K race, but unfortunately narrowly missed out on a place in the winning team due to it only being 3 to count in that event.

IPC Grand Prix

It was an exciting four days of competition at the IPC Grand Prix in Dubai with a number of Britain’s para-stars taking to the track and field against some of the best athletes in the world.

Erin McBride competed in her first T13 400m of the season, finishing second in 1:02.24 and also second in the T13 100m in 13.03.

Hale Village 5 Mile

The popular Hale Village 5 Mile race made a return on Easter Sunday and a number of our senior athletes chose to use the fast course for an early season race, but the cold conditions took the edge off things despite a good turnout.

Degene Gezimu continued his fine run of form taking the win in 25:29, followed by James McNally in 25:56 and Charla Hassan edging out club mate Ryan Whiston to take the 3rd spot in 26:34.
