HARRIERS WIN AWARDS
At the end of September our Hon. Secretary - Ernie Gallagher attended a Merseyside Sports Awards Dinner at the Holiday Inn Hotel, where the club won the volunteer club award. They were then entered to the North West Sports Board Awards (sponsored by the BBC).
As a result on Friday evening 25th October 2002, I was asked to represent the club at the North West Sports Awards Dinner at the JJB Stadium, Wigan. It was an eventful evening where there were a number of section awards sitting under 5 Main awards.
On the night the club won ' Coach Development Programme Award' and then won the 'Best Voluntary Sector Project Award'. It was a nice surprise to receive the awards on behalf of the many who help out at the club.
Well Done everyone

Can you Help
The following e-mail was received by Robbie wood (LPS), can you help?
Robbie. I'm helping the NUTS with reconstruction of 1930s British ranking lists and there are two Liverpool athletes - both in the triple jump, or hsj as it was then - for whom first names and dates of birth are missing. They are R.O. Riley (Liverpool Boundary ) in 1933 and T.W. Townson (Waterloo H) in 1935. If you could inquire via your website as to whether anybody knows anything about them I'd be grateful.

Sunday 24th March 2002
On Sunday 24th March 2002, Mathew Owens, won the High Jump event for the Under 13 boys as an individual guest in the finals with a jump of 1.55m. To think that Mathew will be only 1st year under 15, in the YA events this summer, beckons well for the future.
