North of England X.C. Championships.
Derby - Saturday 26th January 2001
On a wet and miserable day, a coach of lads, girls and parents left Wavertree at 8am for one of the main cross country races of the year. Hopes were high and the lads and girls didn't let us down. It was one of the hardest courses that I have seen in my time, and in some places I would say dangerous. I'm glad I was not the meeting referee.
Hopes were high that some of the lads, especially Phil McGlory could be in the medals, however Phil could only finish in 6th place, and an individual medal was won by Lee Siemansko in 3rd place. The team finished in 2nd place (97pts), behind Sunderland (58pts).

Merseyside County X.C Championships.
Sherdley Park, St Helens.
Sunday 6th January 2002
The junior men started with the Senior men, but were only to complete 2 laps. It was clear to see the Phil McGlory was on fine form and was up with the leaders after the first lap. He came home as the winner with an excellent lead. He was accompanied by Stephen Evans, but unfortunately not a complete team.
