The club have been notified of the passing of Bob Birrell from Bob’s sister June.
She informed the club that Bob had been taken into a local hospital after a fall and passed away peacefully
Our deepest condolences go out to June and the family.
Many will know that Bob was an Olympic High Hurdler in the games in 1960 and represented his country at the Commonwealth Games
He was also an accomplished coach and a National official.
Pre Covid Bob could be seen collecting training fees
Funeral arrangements.
Bob Birrells funeral will take place at 2pm on Wednesday 24th April at the Landican Crematorium, Wirral which will be a short service followed by a full service at 3pm at Birkenhead School.
RIP Bob you will be missed.
