Weekend Round Up – 14/15 April

ERRA Men’s 12 Stage Relays, Sutton Park

The Men’s team finished 20th at the 12 Stage road relays on Saturday. The team started very brightly with Charlie Hulson putting the team in the league after leg 3 and Charlie ran the 6th fastest long leg. Please see splits and positions:

Liverpool Jumps and Throws, Wavertree

 

The weather was kind for this meeting and there were several very impressive results.

Mike Bomba threw 66.65m to win the Hammer and Steven Jones and Mike Hartley both cleared 1.95m in the High Jump.

Also George Hyde of West Cheshire went very close to a European U18 qualifying distance in the shot with 17.96m, just 34cm shy.

Mersey Tunnel 10K

 

Having run the first leg in the road relays on Saturday, Dejene Gezimu won the Mersey Tunnel 10K in 32:14

Sportshall National Finals – Sportcity

 

Several of our athletes were selected to compete for Merseyside in the National finals. Although the teams struggled, there were a few individual stand out performances.

Luka Sidebotham, Cameron Scott-Allen, Jack Gilland and Ethan Stopford all picked up individual medals.

 

Open Meetings

 

A whole host of athletes attended open meetings over the weekend (other than the jumps and throws), the majority at Wirral.

Stoke – Steff Driscoll 46.72 300m Hurdles, 12.90 80m Hurdles

Trafford – Matthew Brennan 4:57.05 1500m
