UK Athletics Champs – Birmingham – 18th/19th Feb

Congratulations to Kate Anson who has won bronze in the UK Indoor Champs in Birmingham. Kate equalled her PB with a leap of 1.84m

Irish Indoor ChampionshipsAbbotstown 18th/19th Feb

L&D Cross Country – Clarkes Gardens 19th Feb

There was a good turnout of Liverpool Harrier athletes for the L&D Championships.

Matt Leahy finished 3rd with our first six men all within the top 10 meaning they retained the team title.

Laura Quine finished 2nd and Niamh Donnelly 3rd as the ladies also won the team title. Something that has not happened for some time.

DNA Meeting Madrid – 22nd Feb

Congratulations to Meg Corker who was selected for GB U20 and finished 2nd in 8.47 in 60mH

BUCs Indoor Champs – Sheffield – 24th/25th/26th Feb

Our students travelled over to Sheffield for the BUCS Indoors. There were lots of performance and three of our athletes picked up medals

National XC Champs – Bolesworth 25th Feb

The National XC Champs were fairly local this year, located in Cheshire. Individually Liam McCay finished in 5th in U17M and Holy Cross finished in 6th in U15G.

In addition the team of Holly Cross, Molly Carvell, Bailey Hughes and Valerie Teare won team silver

Junior Awards Evening – 3rd March

Congratulations to Sadie Madigan who won the junior athletes of the year at our awards evening

Trafford 10k – Partington- 5th March

Our endurance group made their way across to Partington and virtually all of our athletes came away with PBs.

David Devine finished 8th in 29:25 (PB).

Tokyo Marathon – 5th March

Congratulations to Rachel Hodgkinson who ran another PB to clock a time of 2:36.41. This ranks her 4th in the UK in 2023 and just 31 secs off Jenny Clague’s club record

Intercounties XC – Loughborough – 11th March

We had quite a few athletes travelling across to Prestwold Hall to represent Merseyside. Liam McCay was our best individual finisher in 11th

The final re-arranged match was at Heaton Park and with the stronger runners from u13 upwards competing in the inter counties, it allowed others to claim the limelight:

EA U15/17 Combined Events – Sheffield – 11th &12th March

Congratulations to Corey Beechall who won silver at EA U17m combined events and broke his own club record in the process with 4638pts including 4 PBs

60m 7.40, LJ 6.17m, Shot 13.16m, HJ 1.80m, 60mH 8.43, PV 3m, 1000m 2:53.32

In the Para/Ambulant events, Elliott Griffith recorded PBs of 8.02 in the 60m and 5.17m in the LJ.
