BUCS Championships – Chelmsford 30th Apr – 2nd May
The highlight of the university athletics calendar was the BUCS track and field championships held at Chelmsford over the bank holiday weekend. There was a large turnout of athletes from Liverpool Harriers and some outstanding performances.
Zoe Price threw 59.49m in the Hammer to win gold and Emily Gargan also won gold with a last round leap of 12.82m in the triple jump, just 1cm of the legal club record. Emily Dibble finished second in the javelin with 49.41m and Jai Benson finished 3rd in the Triple jump with 14.72m.

Northern League – Litherland – 30th April
A depleted team(clashed with BUCS) finished 5th at Litherland

National League – Chelmsford -7th May
The senior team made the long journey down to Chelmsford and came away with a creditable 4th place. The team lacked numbers especially in the B races on the ladies side, but of those that turned out there were some very good performances.
With a local match next up, there are high hopes we can move up the league table in the search for promotion

YDL Lower- Wavertree – 8th May
The lower aged YDL put out one of the strongest teams for some years and came away with a huge victory of over 150pts and confidence is high that they can return back to the Premier division.
Next match is at Blackburn on 21st May.

Elsewhere Jonny Mellor was selected for the England Commonwealth Games team in the marathon and we had many good performances at the Trafford Open Meetings that took place over this period.
