Congratulations to Katarina Johnson-Thompson who put in a fantastic performance in the Heptathlon to claim silver, smash her PB and LHAC club record and push Olympic and World Champion Thiam so close.
Katarina started with a solid 13.34(+0.4) in the hurdles, followed by a 1.91m HJ , a 13.09 shot put and a 22.88 (+1.5) 200m which put her in the lead overnight.
Kat started day 2 with a big LJ 6.68m (-0.1) and a PB in the Javelin of 42.16, but Thiam responded with a championship best throw that effectively put her out of reach going into the 800m. Despite a brave effort in the 800m, Kat time of 2:09.84 was not quite enough to take gold.
