In the disability events, Elliott Griffith won the Long Jump and ran a PB in the 60m

MACCL – Tatton Park – Sat 13th Jan

Quite a few athletes elected to compete at Tatton Park. There were medals for:

U13B – 2nd Peter Herring, 3rd Bobby McEvoy

U15G – 1st Holly Cross

Liam McCay was selected for the NW in the junior men’s event and finished 9th.

Sportshall Finals, Widnes – Sun 21st Jan

We took strong teams over to Widnes to compete in the Sportshall Finals and the U11G, U11B and U13B all finished runners up. The U13G finished 3rd. Results are subject to validation.

4 Villages half marathon- Helsby – Sun 21st Jan

Well done to our athletes who competed today.

James Horman was 4th in 70.35

Alistair Rutherford was 7th in 72.12

Richard Lysons was 20th in 75.46

Peter Simpson was 1118 in 2hrs 17.46.

number of others did not start.

Rachael Burns was 1st lady home in 78.40

Northern Athletics XC, Sedgefield – Sat 27th Jan

Well done to everyone who travelled to Sedgefield to compete.

We came away with titles and individual medals.

Under 13 Boys – Ran well and finished 4th.

Under 13 Girls – made the podium with 3rd place. They were Evie Worrall, Maisie McGuirk, Esme Cameron and Pearl Fay in 51st place, 7 place in front of Mya Burney.

Under 15 Boys – Sadly only Max Taylor ran but finished well up in 6 place.

Under 15 Girls – Holly Cross won the race with Erin Fay, Rebecca Murphy and Bailey Hughes part of the winning team. 5 other girls ran in the race.

Sadly no U17 men nor women ran due to injuries and various reasons.

Junior Men – Liam McCay made the podium in 3rd place and the team finished 5th, just 1point behined Trafford in 4th.

Junior Women – Faye O’Hare ran well to finish just outside the medals in 4th place.

Senior Men – Finished well in 6th place with Joe Roberts the first counter in 45th place. 10 men turned out on the day.

Senior Women – The team finished in 5th place with Alex Melia O’Brien
first counter in 33rd place.

Norwegian Indoor Combined Events championships 2024 – Oslo – Sat 27th & Sun 28th Jan

An English team was selected for this Junior representative Open championships and performed well.

In the U20 Men Corey Beechall produced a good performance to take bronze.
