
It is with great sadness that we have to report the sad news of the sudden passing of Mike Turner.
Mike joined Liverpool Harriers & AC in 1956 and was a member of the Youth team who won the National Cross Country title. He was a member of the Lancashire Cross Country Team for more than 10 yrs and was also Team Captain for 6-7 yrs. He ran for England Cross Country and was also Captain for some years. He went to Cambridge University in 1960 and was a member of the winning team at the Annual Varsity Match in 1960. He won many Cross Country Championships including the North of England and was pipped in the National Cross Country Championships by the thickness of a vest by Dr Ron Hill at Sheffield in 1966. He was also the Team Manager at Seoul in 1988 for the British Olympic Team.
