Northern 6/12 Stage Relays & Junior Road 5k champs

Northern 6/12 Stage & U15/17 5K Championships – Birkenhead Park

On a perfect spring day we saw a lot of athletes compete in the Northern 6/12 stage relays and the U15/17 5K Championships

5K Championships

U17W – Congratulations to Jess Cook who lead from start to finish to collect. Aimee Pierce finished 10^th

U15B – Jamie Ford finished 10^th and Matthew Brennan 17^th

U15W – Congratulations to Faye O’Hare who finished second, having competed for England the previous day. Tamzin Dentith finished 11^th and Isabel Leyland 23^rd. The girls also picked up the team bronze medal.

Women’s 6 Stage

A terrific performance from our Ladies saw a 5^th place finish, even with a late change due to illness.

Racheal Burns lead the team off with the third fastest long leg and Danielle Webb moved the team into second after leg 2. Hannah Delaney ran leg 3, Megan Ball the second long leg followed by Charlotte Wilson-Dewhurst with Abbie Oliver on the last leg. Leeds won the title, followed by Rotherham and Salford.

Men’s 12 Stage

The men were slightly depleted due to other commitments and unavailability, but we did manage to get two teams out with the men’s A team finishing 6^th and the B team 33^rd

The A team started really well with John Ashcroft and Jamie Webb on the first two legs. John ran the third fastest long leg and Jamie the fifth fastest short leg. Lincoln won the title with Salford second and Stockport third.
