Northern Road Relays – Sportcity

Congratulations to our U13G and senior men who both collected medals. The U13G team of Lara Bellingham, Ella McMutrie and Hattie Bain were crowned Northern champions and our Senior men finished third – Charlie Hulson, Danny Cliffe, Tom Rodgerson, Matt Jackson, Dejene Gezemu, Ricky Challinor.

U13B – The A team finished 6^th with Liam McCay running a storming last leg which was the third quickest of the day.

U13G – Lara Bellingham lead off the team and was second after the first leg, Ella McMutrie opened up a 9 second lead after leg 2 and Hattie Bain brought the team home to win by 46 seconds. All three ran within 17 seconds of each other with Hattie third quickest, Ella 6^th quickest and Lara 7^th quickest. The B team finished 14^th, the D team finished 35^th and the C team 36^th.

U15B – The A team finished 6^th with Charlie Teare running the 10^th fastest leg. The B team finished 27^th

U15G – The A team finished 10^th with Faye O’Hare running the 8^th fastest leg, the B team finished 35^th

Unfortunately we had an incomplete team in the men’s u17 and were unable to field a team in the women’s u17 event

The senior Men’s team were always in contention, Charlie Hulson put the team in the lead with the fastest of all legs and were always in the top 2 until the final leg, where Lincoln Wellington ran away with the victory and Leeds went past us for second. Dejene Gezemu ran the fourth fastest leg. The B team finished in 19^th with Dan Preston running a very fast leg and the C team finished 52nd.

Prospects look good for the national championships with the selection committee having a difficult decision on whom to select for the A team with several more athletes available.

English Schools Combined Events, Bedford

Congratulations to Lara Taylor and Cameron Scott – Allen who qualified for the national finals.

Lara finished in 30^th position in the inter girls with 3741pts – 12.95 80mH, 1.50 HJ, 8.33 Shot, 27.66 200m, 4.54m LJ, 22.76 Jav and 2:39.18 800m

Unfortunately after a PB in the hurdles and a good shot put, Cam collapsed and was taken to hospital with abdominal pains.
