Sadie wins English Schools Pentathlon, Road Relay success and Round up

English Schools combined events – Bedford 17th & 18th Sept

Congratulations to Sadie Madigan who won gold in the junior Pentathlon at the English Schools combined events. Sadie produced another score over 3000pts with 3083pts including a PB in the Shot.

Corey Beechall also competed in the U17 event, but fouled out in the Discus and finished down the field.

Southport Waterloo Open – Litherland 10th Sept

We had quite a few youngsters entered at Liverland, however age is no deterrent to competition and our long standing member and past president, Harold Benson, returned to competition at the age of 90. Harold has been training for javelin and threw just over 8m

Throws and Jumps – Wavertree -17th Sept

A decent entry turned up at Wavertree for the second throws and jumps of the season. There was a big PB in the Discus for Nick Wedderman, going over 45m

Great North Run – Newcastle – 11th Sept

We had a few athletes competing,with Jonny Mellor 13th male in 64:38 and Rachel Hodgkinson 11th female in 76:11

NW Road Relays – Edgehill Uni – 11th Sept

We had a very big turnout especially for the junior section at Edge Hill University for the North West relays and we took multiple medals in both the North West and the County.

Medals in the NW event went to:

U11G – 2nd and 3rd

U11B – 1st

U13G – 2nd

U15G – 1st and 3rd

U15B – 3rd

U17M – 3rd

Our senior men were 7th and our senior women 5th.

Northern Road Relays – Sportcity – 25th Sept

Congratulations to all our athletes that competed at Sportcity in the Northern Road Relay

U13 Boys – 6th, 15th and 17th
U13 Girls – 3rd 7th and 10th. Rebecca Murphy (5th) Maisie McGuirk (10) in the top ten fastest legs.

U15 Boys – 3rd, 17th and 22nd
U15 Girls – 3rd, 8th and 31st. Holly Cross (3rd) and Molly Carvell (10th) in the top ten fastest legs.

U17 Men- 12th Max Webster 9th fastest leg
U13 Women – 4th and Lara Bellingham running the fastest lap.

Sen Men – 14th and 60th
Sen Women – 10th and the B team was incomplete

Well done to all and everyone looking forward to the National Rd Relays on Sat 8th October at Sutton Park, Birmingham.

Wrexham Half Marathon – 4th Sept
