YDL Lower – Wavertree

On another fantastic weather day, Liverpool Harriers U13/15 YDL put out a strong team and finished second behind Stockport, who won the first meeting as well.

This puts Liverpool in second place in the league overall with two teams getting promoted. However it is very close for the second position.

There were several highlights in terms of performances:

Mia Morrisroe 41.62 breaking her own 300m club record, Faye O’Hare took 8 second off her 1500m PB running 4.42 and Hattie Bains went under 4mins for the first time for 1200m. In the field, Matthew Taylor 40.39 – Discus, Niamh Grant 5.21 – LJ and Sam Webster 9.33 U13 SP.

Christleton 5K

A successful trip for our distance athletes as both David Devine and Rachael Burns won the men’s and women’s race respectively.

Loughborough International

Osian Jones captained the Welsh side, Dan Jarvis ran for England and Emma Alderson ran the 400m and 4x400m for GB juniors in the international match. We had several athletes competing in the guest races.

In a race won by Mo Farah and featured on BBC TV, Dejene Gezimu finished 5th in 29:55

Trafford Sprints and Jumps

A few athletes travelled over to Trafford on Tuesday, with the stand out performance being Gabrielle O’Neill jumping 1.63m in the HJ, which met the ES standard.
