National League – York – Sat 31st May

The NAL team started their season with a trip to York. The standard was very high, with the hosts sending out a very strong team(new to league), plus Sale, who dropped down from the top league last season, Trafford, who won all three matches last season and Nottingham.

Unfortunately we had too many gaps on the day, with just one male endurance athlete and no female endurance athletes, meant we finished 5th on the day.

We expect a much more competitive performance in the next match as we are hosting the match.

YDL Lower – Trafford – Sun 1st June

After winning the opening match at Wavertree by over 100pts, the YDL team went into the match at Trafford with high hopes.

The team was very strong with just four gaps, two of which is U15B 80m hurdles, which we need to fill, if we want to be competitive at the National Finals.

The weather made conditions difficult with regular heavy showers, but the team came away victorious again, winning by 70pts.

The stand out performance was from our U13G 4x100m Relay team, who ran 53.1, which is the fastest time ever run by a Liverpool Harriers team at that age group and ranks them UK no.1. Congratulations to Esther Nwaeze, Indy Moorcoft, Ava Feenan and Inez Hernandez-Martin.

The team are top of the league with a decent gap to 2nd, as the team below swapped positions between match 1 & 2.
