Merseyside County Open Medal Meeting – Wavertree

The county put on an excellent midweek medal meeting on Wed 1st August, in which the weather stayed dry, the meeting was well attended and there were some excellent results from our younger athletes.

Thanks to all the officials that turned out to make the meeting a success

BAL – Wavertree

The men finished their season with a home match at a sunny Wavertree and a strong team finished equal third on the day and in fourth in the league.

Congratulations to Harrow and Blackheath & Bromley who got promoted

UKWL – Lee Valley

The ladies travelled down to Lee Valley and competed on a very hot day with just 10 athletes. All the girls put in a sterling effort and every girl competed in 3 events.

The ladies did very well to finish 5th on the day and 3rd overall in the league

Congratulations to Havering and Nene Valley who got promoted

Northern League – Blackpool

Unfortunately the Northern team got relegated after finishing last at Blackpool. The men had a relatively strong team again, but we could only muster 3 ladies to compete and the lack of depth and availability of the ladies side has been the problem all season

Congratulations to the Isle of Man on winning the league
