National League victory, YDL lower – a close third position.

Last weekend was the turn of the club events. The YDL lower returned to Ellesmere Port on Sat 5th June, whilst the senior team were at Sportcity in the National League on Sun 6th June.

Another fantastic day of weather and the performances matched in a high quality meeting where there were multiple UK leading athletes or performances across the 5 clubs.

Wirral won, from Preston With Liverpool extremely close to both teams and if we can fill our gaps we could win the next meeting.

Kelly Aru improved his 75m UK lead to 9.8, Valentine Analogbei making his debut of 300m ran a UK lead of 37.1 and in the 1200m both Molly Carvell and Valerie Teare went inside the U13G club record with Molly running the 4th fastest time ever in the UK in 3:43.6. Charlie Rigby then improved his 1200m UK lead with a storming last lap to run 3:43.7

National League – Sportcity

The first National League fixture under a joint men’s and women’s format ended up in a easy win for Liverpool against Wigan, Sale and a Scottish team, who are in the top division.

Liverpool had very few gaps in their team and were particularly strong in the field. On the Women’s side Emily Dibble threw a big PB in the javelin of 45.90 to move her to 8th ranked in the UK, whilst Emma Alderson ran 2:08.1 over 800m for a PB. On the men’s side Ethan Flaherty improved over 400mH to 54.1
