Another busy couple of weeks of athletics, with a mixture of club matches, open meetings and international meetings
Loughborough International -23rd May
We had a handful of athletes competing at the Loughborough International.
Henry Nwoke was selected for GB U20 in the relay, but the team failed to finish. James Williams competed for England in 4x400m.
Zoe Price – competing for Loughborough threw a SB of 53.98 in the hammer

BMC meeting – Leigh 23rd May
A few of our athletes made the short journey over to Leigh. Liam McCay improved his 1500m PB to 4:07.91, but yet again Molly Carvell created the headlines as she moved to the top of the UK rankings for U13G over 1500m with 4:48.56

YDL upper – Ellesmere Port 30th May
On a glorious day at Ellesmere Port our YDL competed and finished second in a reduced timetable match. With a helpful breeze down the home straight, the sprinters all ran quick times. Pick of the performances was Chantal Ameh running 25.6 over 200m, Sophie Hampson with 10.54 in the triple jump and Cameron Scott-Allen with 45.07 in the hammer.

Trafford Open – BH Monday 31st May
Another big turnout by our juniors with too many PBs to mention. James Davies improved his 300m PB to 38.99 and over 1200m Charlie Rigby improved his UK lead to 3:44.94, whilst Holly Cross ran 3:52.65

A few of our Irish members competed in Belfast.

Jamie Webb – Jamie started his outdoor form with a disappointing in the Doha GP running 1:48.6. His next race in Huelva improved to 1:46 58, before a big improvement in Finland to 1:45.13
