Tim Duckworth breaks British Heptathlon Record

NCAA championships – Texas

On 10th March, having forsaken the recent World Indoor Champs, Tim Duckworth won the NCAA Heptathlon in College Station, Texas with a new UK Record of 6188 pts eclipsing his previous UK Record of 6165 from 2017. His new score would have placed him 5th in the World Champs.

On day one a quick 6.84 60m was followed by 7.74m in the first round of the LJ – after which he passed up his 2nd and 3rd trials. A pb 13.59m Shot was followed by a great 2.17m pb HJ.

On day two, after 8.23 in the 60mH, Tim won the Vault with 5.16m (a new Club Record) and rounded off the event with a pb 1000m in 2.56.23 We look forward to a great summer for Tim, hopefully featuring prominently in the Europeans in Berlin
