Last night, Tom Farrell returned to the club to launch his book, Making of an Olympian.
Tom joined Liverpool Harriers back in the 1940’s and competed in two Olympic games – 1956 in Melbourne and 1960 in Rome. The first in the 400m Hurdles and the latter in the 800m.
Tom discussed with a select audience his time leading up to and through the two Olympic games and showed us pictures and footage from the period including some cine camera footage(shot by himself)of both olympic experiences.
