Williams/Nwoke club records & round up

Despite the track still being closed and no official date for opening, some of our athletes have travelled around the country and overseas for competition.

Nuneaton – Wed 19th August

James Williams travelled down to Nuneaton to compete in the Night of the 100m. James ran 10.42 in his heat and then improved to win the final in 10.35(+0.4). This was a legal PB and equalled Paul Brizzell’s long standing club record.

Sophie Money also competed running 12.32

Trafford – Sat 15th August

Another club record fell as Henry Nwoke improved his own U20 200m record to 21.01 (+1.4). Henry also ran 10.65 for 100m. Mia Morrisroe also ran the 100m/200m double running 12.43 & 25.36(Windy). Katherine Neo was the other  competitor running 14.10 & 28.84

Breda, Netherlands – Sat 8th August

Steph Driscoll travelled over to the Netherlands and in extreme heat(37 degrees) ran a very encouraging 62.54 for 400mH for her season opener.

Open meeting Trafford – Sat 8th August 

Some excellent performances at Trafford over 800m. Holly Cross and Molly Carvell, who are both U13, ran 2:28.30 and 2:29.71 respectively. These are top class times for U13G. Josh Redmond and Iwan Williams smashed their PB’s with 2:07.81 and 2:13.91 respectively. Joe Byrne improved to 2:05.79

Podium 5K, Barrowford – Sat 8th August 

Danielle Webb returned to action running 18:36 over the course, where the men’s British best time fell in the main race

BMC meeting, Trafford – Tues 11th August 

Max Wharton ran 1:50.24 in the A race, which was won in a time sub 1:45 and Joe Byrne ran 2:06.89

Diamond League, Monaco – Friday 14th August 

KJT competed in the high jump, finishing 6th in 1.84cm(SB), moving to the top of the Liverpool Harriers rankings surpassing Kate Anson’s 1.83

Loughborough,- Sunday 16th August 

Three of our athletes competed at Loughborough. Emma Alderson 57.44(400m), Steph Driscoll 62.08(400mH) and Max Wharton 1:50.12(800m)
